Currently, for the construction industry, there has been a recent trend that has been identified by FIBC, which is the growing popularity of precast concrete residential projects in contemporary style. Moreover, the appeal of precast is due to its supreme quality and thus is trending concerning single individual residential projects. “Apart from the impressive quality, another considerable benefit of precast is the fast construction time. Compared to in situ casting, the structure of a full precast concrete building can be erected about 80% faster and are highly cost-effective. However, for FIBC, the most challenging issue for the company has been to introduce individuals to precast concrete and change the older generations misconception on the product. While this is a challenge, to say the least, FIBC is slowly succeeding with their appeal as it is firmly believed that precast concrete is the future of the construction industry. Unfortunately, as the Covid-19 pandemic made its way to the UAE, there has been a significant decrease in the construction industry, mainly related to the fluctuating prices, lack of building material availability and the increased restrictions, safety measures and labour movement within the nation. However, although times were difficult, the storm has passed, and the silver lining was witnessed as FIBC is now experiencing the highest demand for new projects.
