Hidden away was a humble, yet luxurious portable toilet trailer of a sort he had never seen in Dubai. In Dubai, to have a portable toilet at an event meant renting trucks, cranes, water tanks and generators. It was too much. There was a gap in the market. It was a gap PJ was determined to fill. Since opening its doors in 2012, EcoLoo has gone from strength to strength. At first, it was run in the evenings and on weekends, but soon the success of the company allowed PJ to make the firm his focus. The core values at the heart of his service were punctuality, superior quality and ultra-reliability at all times. It is these values which have ensured the firm’s incredible growth. Ten years since the company’s inception, and it has grown from a weekend job into running events which cater to the needs of more than 100,000 attendees. The events industry is intrinsically linked with the service offered by EcoLoo and has proven to be a sector filled with variety. No two events are the same, and often the plans for an event will change from day to day. The fluidity of the team’s response, therefore, is vital to securing success for the company. As far as possible, the EcoLoo team react to the needs of the client and make sure that they get precisely what they want. When EcoLoo first opened its doors in 2012, the choice was made to import toilets of the highest standards. Within three years, these had started to show wear and tear from rigorous use. Restoration showed that the team were more than capable of manufacturing their own solution that would be of superior quality in every respect. This is precisely what they did, and now EcoLoo is the provider of choice for many companies around the world, not only in the Middle East but in markets as far away as the USA. To grow from importing toilets to manufacturing them in just ten years is an astonishing achievement, and one which reflects the drive and tenacity of PJ and his team. Having the ability to produce equipment inhouse means that they can adapt swiftly to market changes. As competition has sought to repeat their impressive success, they have been able to change their ways of working to meet the needs of their customers whilst also maintaining the highest of standards. The last two years have been a major challenge for the team, with much of their work based on the events industry. Despite the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic, no staff were let go and progress was made on expansion projects that will drive the team forward for the next few years. As the UAE seeks to capitalise on the events industry in the postpandemic era, it’s clear that the team at EcoLoo are going to be in considerable demand with their impressive products booked many months in advance.
