About the UAE Business Awards
MEA Markets is very proud to host the UAE Business Awards 2023 for its seventh instalment! This awards programme aims to reward a vastly diverse range of hardworking businesses from across the United Arab Emirates region, who are demonstrating innovation and excellence throughout a turbulent economic climate many firms are suffering through.
While the majority of Europe and America are experiencing increasing difficulty regarding their respective economies and financial situations, the UAE’s story is very different indeed! The UAE economy is set to report its strongest annual expansion since 2011 after it grew by a very impressive 8.2% in the first three months of 2022, due to higher oil prices and measures to mitigate the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has placed on economies around the globe. The region has also seen itself shipping oil to new destinations such as Europe in the past twelve months as global economies are seeking alternative means of powering themselves.
The likes of the Expo 2020 hosted in Dubai, the recovery in global travel and the easing of pandemic-related restrictions have also strengthened the non-oil sector in the region, expanding by more than 6% in the first three months of the year. International visitor numbers have also recovered to around 70% of pre-pandemic levels at the start of 2022. It is also expected that the upcoming FIFA World Cup held in nearby Qatar will also likely benefit the travel hubs in the UAE.
We aspire to reward anyone who has demonstrated excellence within their industry, regardless of whether they are from a huge conglomerate or a small enterprise.
Involvement within MEA Markets’ UAE Business Awards 2023 will showcase your business’ position as a significant player within your industry, as well as exposing potential collaborators, colleagues, and clients to your award-winning product or service!
The UAE Business Awards 2023 are entirely merit-driven and to determine our successful awardees, our dedicated in-house research team will analyse all publicly accessible information, before our judging panel make their final decisions. Any materials supplied by nominees will also be taken into consideration.
This established awards programme is 100% free to enter and, if your business is lucky enough to be successful, you will be promoted to our circulation and showcased on our official website for a minimum of 12 months. Our readers are always eager to discover businesses at the height of their powers, and the story behind how they got there.
If you would like to submit a self-nomination, or indeed nominate another business you feel is worthy of recognition in this year’s UAE Business Awards, then we invite you to complete our online voting form found at the top of this page. Alternatively, if you would like more information about how the UAE Business Awards 2023 can benefit your business, then please feel free to contact our nominations team via the contact details provided.
The MEA Markets team work hard in identifying great businesses, driving many of the nominations themselves. The team encourage external nominations from the subscribers of the magazine, web visitors, social media following, clients and wider circulation. Nominating parties are invited to put forward either their own business or third-party companies whom they hold in high regard.
All nominees are formally requested to accept their nomination, nominees are obviously free to accept or decline if they so wish. Those who formally accept are given the opportunity to submit additional supporting information to cement their nomination. There is no obligation to complete and supply such material, we have found that many nominees value this stage, in the process, as much as our research team do.
Evaluating shortlisted nominees
Our dedicated research team will assess all information presented to them. The team gather information independently from a variety of publicly accessible sources, which are assessed alongside any material supplied by a nominating party or by the nominee themselves. The research team casts their final judgment, based on various criteria such including business performance, longevity, diversification, growth (either sustained or rapid), any significant innovations, feedback from stakeholders.
How winners are determined
Once winners are selected, they are personally notified before any public announcement is made, allowing time for any communications throughout the wider business and the coordination of marketing strategies. Unfortunately, not everyone can be a winner; however, all who take part are encouraged to come back next year. Once the press embargo is lifted, details of our award winners will be made public via the MEA Markets website, award winners’ magazine and subscriber newsletter.
Sharing the news
We offer a range of promotional packages and items to MEA Markets’ award winners, which vary from inclusion in the free-of-charge winners’ directory, to trophies, content in our magazine and on our website.
We encourage all winners to publicly announce their win independently in order to gain maximum exposure. Announcements via company websites, social media, via publicly released press releases, and through local and national press are all great ways of maximising the exposure which can be gained from such a great achievement. If you have need of further advice, on how to publicise your win, please feel free to get in touch. We are more than happy to assist our clients with their needs.
