MEA Markets Magazine are delighted to announce the return of the African Business Excellence Awards for 2020. With the MEA platform, we look to reveal industry leaders from the varied industries, markets and sectors from across the continent.
As the 2nd largest continent in the world, Africa is home to a plethora of businesses that contribute to their respective countries’ GDP growth. As businesses and industries continue to thrive within the continent here at MEA Markets we look to continue to support those businesses b y showcasing the best of the best from a variety of industries.
From agriculture, mining and manufacturing, to investment banking and travel & tourism, we look to recognise those businesses that go above and beyond in what they do. Entering the 2020 African Business Excellence Awards is the perfect way to showcase your strength and success within your field, it is also a great opportunity to confirm the belief you have in your work and your products.
Once a nomination has been received for your business, you will be added to the shortlist and given the opportunity to provide us with supporting evidence via a tailor-made questionnaire. After the deadline for the award entry passes, our in-house research team will conduct research into your enterprise from what they find on the public domain, such as review sites, social media and your website, among other online sources. They then pass a case file onto the judging panel who will determine the 2020 winners.
Being named as a 2020 winner will show you are one of the best in what you do. As a winner, you will get the option to display your success with physical and digital promotional items, so you can truly get the most out of your award! As with all our awards there are no mandatory costs, so regardless of budget or company policy all our winners can opt for a suitable promotional item to help them promote their success.
If you would like to nominate a company for the African Business Excellence Awards 2020, you are invited to do so via the voting form found below.
We accept self-nominations as well as third party nominations. Furthermore, our awards are based on merit, not the number of votes received. Our process works to ensure that we reward parties based on their excellence in the industry, the quality of their products and their dedication to service.

The MEA Markets team work hard in identifying great businesses, driving many of the nominations themselves. The team encourage external nominations from the subscribers of the magazine, web visitors, social media following, clients and wider circulation. Nominating parties are invited to put forward either their own business or third-party companies whom they hold in high regard.
All nominees are formally requested to accept their nomination, nominees are obviously free to accept or decline if they so wish. Those who formally accept are given the opportunity to submit additional supporting information to cement their nomination. There is no obligation to complete and supply such material, we have found that many nominees value this stage, in the process, as much as our research team do.
Our dedicated research team will assess all information presented to them. The team gather information independently from a variety of publicly accessible sources, which are assessed alongside any material supplied by a nominating party or by the nominee themselves. The research team casts their final judgment, based on various criteria such including business performance, longevity, diversification, growth (either sustained or rapid), any significant innovations, feedback from stakeholders.
Once winners are selected, they are personally notified before any public announcement is made, allowing time for any communications throughout the wider business and the coordination of marketing strategies. Unfortunately, not everyone can be a winner; however, all who take part are encouraged to come back next year. Once the press embargo is lifted, details of our award winners will be made public via the MEA Markets website, award winners’ magazine and subscriber newsletter.
We offer a range of promotional packages and items to MEA Markets’ award winners, which vary from inclusion in the free-of-charge winners’ directory, to trophies, content in our magazine and on our website.
We encourage all winners to publicly announce their win independently in order to gain maximum exposure. Announcements via company websites, social media, via publicly released press releases, and through local and national press are all great ways of maximising the exposure which can be gained from such a great achievement. If you have need of further advice, on how to publicise your win, please feel free to get in touch. We are more than happy to assist our clients with their needs.
